Using our journalistic and storytelling foundation, Girt Communications helps clients use images, video, graphic design, web design and messaging to tell strong multimedia stories. We work one-on-one with our clients to help translate what their brand stands for and their values into high-quality content that can be used in advertising, social media and graphic and website design. Based in Wyoming, the company provides a wide range of services, including freelance writing, media relations, marketing, crisis communications, government relations, social media, public relations, event management and photography.

 

About Rachel

 

Rachel Girt is an experienced marketing and public relations expert who has been working in this field for over 20 years. Prior to starting her business, she led communications at a statewide economic development agency (Wyoming Business Council) and the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services. She has delved into the political realm serving as communications director for Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon, press secretary for former Wyoming Gov. Jim Geringer and as a communications director for a political campaign for governor. She earned her media credentials, working as a reporter for two Wyoming newspapers, a freelance writer for the Wyoming Business Report and a legislative reporter for a statewide radio outlet. She has taught media relations, crisis communications, and social media trainings to nonprofits and businesses, as well as teaching business communications as an adjunct professor for the University of Wyoming’s MBA Program. She has provided her expertise to many full service marketing firms to help their clients. Rachel's skills as an accomplished marketing and communications professional give businesses, agencies, and nonprofits an advantage in developing and implementing sustainable media and public outreach strategies. She has a Master's degree in International Studies and has undergraduate degrees in Political Science and International Studies from the University of Wyoming. She serves on the Steering Committee for Junior Leadership of Laramie County, the Advisory Committee for the University of Wyoming UWyo Magazine and the Public Relations Committee for Cheyenne Frontier Days, as well as helping take photos for the Wyoming Women's Antelope Hunt.

Photographer Steve Girt is dedicated to getting that perfect image. He spent hours researching the perfect location and equipment to capture the 2017 Total Solar Eclipse. You can find him roaming the wild spaces in Wyoming with numerous dogs and son in tow.
